Ex850R I need VIDA as well.....
Got a deal on used refurbed laptop when I got two , one for mate so im on the way to having it , I already have a VX Diag tool instead of DICE but its limited in some actions it can perform , reading and deleting codes is ok with it, again , need to read up again.
I have the VXDIAG too, there seemed to be too many crappy DICE units floating around that I didn't want to risk it. I think it can do everything the DICE can - everything runs in VIDA. This includes controlling things such as doors etc. I'm not sure what else a DICE can offer.
@timbo I ran a fault trace and the only things that came up were a couple of electrical faults (tailgate and high mounted stop lamp) and the cabin temp sensor which is reporting as stuck actuator.
I had the "engine temp high - pull over when safe to do so" message the last time I drove it during the day. It was a 20 minutes drive during the hottest part of the day and I had the AC cranking, but I was driving fairly conservatively. When I drove it home at midnight, a little more aggressively I might add, with no AC on though, it ran great and the fan didn't come on after ignition was off.
It's going back to the mechanics this arvo and he reckons it may need a new fan assembly. I'm not keen on the idea of spending a grand+ to replace the assembly if this isn't the issue. Is there anything else I could point him towards before he tries the fan replacement? Perhaps something requiring a less expensive part? I was trying to get it in for an AC service on the off chance that was playing a part, but everywhere is too busy until the end of the week.
