One of the many running changes on 240s was made to the front struts and stub axles. So the wheel bearings and hubs also changed.
In the middle of YM 1981, the stub axle changed from being M16 (like the 140s) to M18. This changed occurred after -
242 - chassis # 191000
244 - chassis # 595000
245 - chassis # 320000
Cars earlier than the above used p/n 181584 ([44] above) and 181585 [47] for the outer bearing, and
181587 [43] and 181588 [46] for the inner bearing.
Timken calls the outer bearing SET2 and the inner bearing SET6 - these same wheel bearing sets are also used on a variety of Holdens and many other gadgets.
However, from mid-1981-on, and chassis numbers greater than those above, the stub axles went to M18 size and the Timken equivilents are SET16 for the outer bearing [44] + [47], and SET17 for the outer bearing [43] + [46].
