You're correct, Greg - the title says 74. I should've looked up! ?
The 74 164 tank is a 240 style tank, and the 164s (all D-Jet) used the same tank as the 74 140s with K-Jet. There was an early-type FI-type tank and a carb-type tank. The later 78+ FI tanks went to a two-pump system, and this was the service option for US 74+ cars experiencing vapor lock issues since US market only got K-Jet 140s.
The 74 model tanks do have the brass bung in the bottom of the tank for the tank filter - I think I posted pics of the one in my 74 K-Jet 145 - but I haven't been successful in removing the bung. The 145's current tank has a problem with a suspected rust hole in the internal hose between the tank filter and the fuel pump connection, and the tank filter is probably clogged too.
So rather than repair the 145's tank, one of those 240 tanks I bought from you is going into the 145; it's the same shape as the 145 tank, and later 240 tanks have the benefit of having an internal swirl pot which the in-tank pump sits in, plus these tanks are designed for an in-tank pump, so there's no plumbing inside the tank.
