Salman Is it just me or are Volvo 144s really really beautiful. I feel they have almost perfect proportions and look more elegant than the 2 series.
Salman I checked on carsales. There were none. Are 144s similarly priced to 240s or have they gone up ?

beema41 I was once interested in the red gumtree 144. It's been around for a long time. I'm sure someone on here has previously inspected it and all is not what it seems. Bit of a concoction of different bits and pieces and the price was very high for what you get if I recall.

Spac Decent 140s are worth more than decent 240s. Shitters of either are lucky to be worth their scrap value... :( Visually, my preference: Pre-73 140; 80-82 240; 75-79 240; Everything else; 74 140. But where I live (100 or 110kph zones in every direction and the nearest destination town 45 minutes away), the 140s are just too noisy and consequently uncomfortable. And the safety level that was exceptional in 1970 is below par today - which matters when our main commuter route had three or four separate fatal accidents last year. So that kind of kills off the 140s as a viable option for me.
egads (she/her) If @Spac still has his 142 for sale that would be the best bet. A viable 142 or 144 could be made with my two but it would involve rust repair. Would be very cheap though, like not far off scrap spare as I would like to see a running car from them.
