Alright, rear is stripped out, not much to report other than the 10 million spiders...
I've taken out more than I probably needed to (little aesthetic plastic parts etc) as I want to give the undercarriage a thorough clean.
This lockdown for Sydney is really killing my jive though, I have an Evo 7 floorpan lined up, but need to go get it.
Interestingly, the Evo 7 (Cedia) is a lot more like the Carisma underneath, with things like the exhaust and fuel filler being on the same sides between the two. Can still bolt any Evo 4+ rear end into it, but worth noting an Evo 7 fuel tank will be a lot easier to get working than a newer one.
Everything came out very smoothy, some stuck electrical connectors but that's about it. No rust, no accident damage, just a lot of dirt that i'm about to hit with a pressure washer.
So,
Now do I start cutting or do I wait for a floorpan.... It's so tempting to start, but on the other hand if I get a floorpan and it's way different, putting all of the rear end parts through a parts washer and replacing the bushes in it wouldn't take too many days.
It's not like this car -has- to progress beyond a Volvo powered 2 litre auto, it's pretty clean underneath that with a bit of love it would be... fine
