  • My little story about migration to M66 from aw55

Hello friends.

I am V70XC b5244t3 AW55 4wd owner for a few years.

First time AW was good, comforteble and satisfact me.

Then I make satge1 for my engine, and fill some trouble. I cannot get full performance on 1-3 gears.

It this time I have idea that I need manual transmission.

It was wery difficult to get drive saft for m66. One time I get it in OLX in my country.

Before it, I do full rebild of AW55-50 - cahnge frictions an repare hydro unitr.

Now I have:

M66 from s60r

fluwheel 850 with sqear tooth

clutch disk ford transit 240mm 23 tooth

clutch plate 850R 240mm

drive shafts xc70 2007 m66 disel

pedals

gear selektor from xc70 2007 m66 disel.

clutch lines from xc70

Sleeve for manual transmision

I think that my bevel gear not complyteble with m66 but it was mistake. I have not haldex, i have visco.

After instalation I am reflash CEM configuration to m58 (there is no config for m66). PDRS gone from dashboard.

Instalation was not hard. But I forget about Rear engine mount bracket, it is not same in m66 and AW55. Some driling and file work helps my ).

First test drive was wonderful. Next day i hear strange noise from transmision ( - It was rusty bearings.

To long storage without oil affected the bearings.

now I order bearing and have a little time for creating this post.

Some information - nubers of bearings:

I have no modification in wiring, i will do it laiter.

Then i will reflash ECM to manual transmision. Now i find only one file for b5244t3 with manual from FWD v70. I think it will work. Have not test it yet.

Good work! Someone on this forum also did a manual swap in an XC70, it is written up if you want to look for it
