Whoops.
1985 190E. 2.0 litre auto. Jap import.
Still has a few weeks rego but stuck ignition switch.
Mercedes ignition switches are massive turds of things for a bunch of very German reasons.
Managed to get the blue car’s switch in, and it cranks but there’s something wrong electrically: no reds on the dash, can’t hear the fuel pump, blah blah.
Not likely to have a chance to have more of a look at it until around New Year.
Not sure what I am going to do with the car. Worst case is that it is the donor windscreen and bootlid for the white 190E.
Apart from the obvious defects, it presents pretty well … until you look closer…
Edit: Weird - the car looks perfectly gold in the photos, but it has a definite green tinge to the paint IRL. There was a similar Volvo colour in the same era.
The colour is actually kind of revolting in a 1980s way.
