Looking for a late model speedo. Electronic type for my 1991 240.

Must be great condition. Will consider a whole cluster

Cheers

Eric

Is there something wrong with your current cluster?

They are different for wagons and sedans

What is the difference between a sedan and wagon?

The gearing in the speedometer

Yea its been playing up. Fluctuating, reading exactly double at times, not reading at all. Generally all over the place. Seems to settle after 10mins or so of driving. And when I reach 200km it freaks out and jumps back to normal.

Well the car is a wagon. But not wagon tyre size. So a sedan speedo would be ideal

I can fix it for you

The capacitors leak and corrode the circuit board, very common on 940's

Be aware that the speedometer pulse sender in the rear axle changed sometime after 1991...you can match the correct speedometer by the K number on the front. Prior to the change, it was something like K6023 and after the change it was something like K23498 (I made up those numbers as I'm too lazy to go out and look at my cars LOL!) The K number is the number of pulses per km that the speedometer is expecting to see. Wagon and sedan ones are slightly different due to the tyre size difference. So, you'll basically want an 86-91 speedometer to replace the one in your car.

And as @ramrod said you may be best to get the one you have repaired as a lot of them are failing due to either broken gears or cracked solder joints or the capacitor issue.
