    Awesome thanks fellas

I have only ever had one car with these wheels rare as hens teeth sadly dont have them

So I need to find someone to fix this then maybe

No way to legally fix that much damage

If it's a true 2 piece, then it might be possible to just replace the rim and not the centre

Strandburg auto in centuria Wisconsin (usa) might have something (they are one of the largest dismantlers in the usa)

    Insurance will pay surely?

A new wheel cost from Volvo paid out by insurer will probably be enough for four replacement wheels. Similar looking Volvo ones are out there, just not with bolts for two piece .

There's no industry standards as to what is or isn't repairable there's nothing at all to stipulate what is legal or not in the way of repairing a wheel, if you look on the internet at what is being claimed to be repaired it's eye opening. I've got Jax tires contacting BBS in Japan about a replacement outer rim but it's not looking good as apparently the rims seem to be discontinued and are up to 14 years old I was told. As for repairing this rim I don't see what the problem is it's not actually a high load area of the rim as long as it is pushed back into its correct position and welded poroperly. Really how is repairing that any worse than welding half a dozen 2" cracks around the load bearing part of the wheel "the rim" or pushing a flattened out rim back into position ? the fatigue and stresses makes the alloy so much weaker than it originally was , if metals are welded correctly it usually is stronger than the surrounding metal have a think about it. Although I do agree ideally it's not the best remedy but if done correctly by a experienced and ticketed welder it shouldn't be a problem.

As a welder i know when a crack is welded the weakest area is in the heat affected zone beside the weld and it will crack again beside the weld.

Wheel repair places may roll a rim within reason but will not weld one. Sure you can get it welded by some but nobody wants to be held liable so wont do it.

The wheel needs to be heat treated to normalise it back to original factory state so it is not economic to do it. An insurer will void a claim if the wheel that was welded is even on the car , they must be notified if you do such repairs as it is outside of the contract i believe.

The damage shown is way outside of repairable. I wouldnt use it even as a spare if i welded it myself.......

They appear to still be available new from a number of sources. The part number is 31202246. Shop around. Probably available from a Volvo dealer in AUS but I'd be guessing price would be $1500 each LOL! Tasca Volvo in USA is showing them for $387.74 USD each. Not sure what shipping would be...even ipd is showing them available at $507 USD each, so they do not appear to be hard to get new, just expensive! :)

While fairly expensive for a wheel, that's not bad compared to the US Volvo dealer pricing to be honest!
