I'd put small woofers (Dayton) in the rear doors with a seperate amp if I wasn't putting seperate components in the rear shelf plus a small sub.
240 front speaker upgrade with OEM look
Mine is a wagon so dont have the rear shelf :/
Works out ok, i even installed that fader knob on the dash for a more retro look and extra gadgetry!! haha
Tweeters can be put up the back like P80s have , adds a good rear channel .
Have you got pictures of what this would look like on a 240?
If you envision the splits you can buy (mid bass and tweeters seperate or just the tweets themselves) they can go in pods to mount them and point them towards the front.

All brands have pods or the tweets and buy pods, Jaycar may have.
You could get dual speaker pods or bigger pods for the mid bass if you purchase a set of splits with crossover and put both on the frame around the tailgate area.

Drill a hole in the glovebox, and out one in there
Then where would you put the spare MAF and the logbook?
If you like OEM look, check this out, 3D-printed rear frames to fit a standard 5.25" speaker with more depth to give clearance for coaxial tweeters.

Seen them but they dont suit windy windows as the arm will catch the speaker :/
