biffwagon is back on the ground, now much lighter and hopefully a little quicker.
I ended up going with a 3.91 ratio 1030 diff so that I have the option of putting in even shorter ratios in the future via jeep gears. It also has a spartan locker centre, perfect for drifting. I ended up just ziptying the speedo plug and wire up to the chassis as these older diffs don't use a speedo sensor. I heard that not running the speedo sensor makes lh2.4 cars run shit but mine is lh2.2 so hoping itll be ok. Not having a working speedo is not an issue for me.
I got a shop to press in the BNE solid spherical diff bushings and superpro trailing arm bushes. I ended up putting the stock torque rods back in for now because i wasn't happy with the fitment or quality of the adjustable ones, but getting the BNE ones is on the list. Also installed my DVS adjustable panhard rod which i bought last year.. finally. And yes i torqued up all the bolts whilst the diff was set at ride height.
I removed the RHS headlight to see if i could retrofit a lightbar inside of it and accidentally dropped and shattered the glass lens. It was unfortunate but I made a cover of sorts using 0.6mm aluminium sheet that i cut and bent to shape with a hammer and my angle grinder. Ended up fitting the lightbar in there and cutting a wonky hole out and it came out acceptable enough, in my humble opinion.
Chucked in the Momo steering wheel and Momo boss kit and reinstalled the Momo seat from 1997 that is definitely probably not the safest. Fuck it, Momo interior tune.
Overall very happy with how it sits now, all thats left is to bleed the brakes again (still spongey after first time), get an exhaust made up, and enter some drift events.
