April 2025 - Rust repairs
There’s the odd bit of minor rust in some places on this car, and have been there since I got it. One odd place was in the front passenger door jamb and I’ve been meaning to fix it before it gets to the point where it’s not just surface rust.
After pulling back the seal strip, I used a cheapie file sander I sanded back everything to clean metal in the affected area, treated with some rust converter, then primed, base coated and cleared with just some colour matched rattle cans, but it matched pretty well.
From there I then got rid of a section of the old double-sided adhesive foam and added some new stuff, and clamped it with the door shut for a few days. Voila.
Have a few more minor updates to come when I have time to document, and thankfully they're not as dry as some minor rust repairs 😃
