I'll have a full report on how it all goes hopefully Sunday. Today and tomorrow is finishing it all up, getting new tyres and making a new list of all the other broken things I've found 8-|
As for the brake bits, got it all from GSL Rallysport/Brakes Direct in Qld (not recommended. Pricks to deal with and my god are they so freaking slow to ship. The discs ended up being drop shipped from DBA. Had a nasty letter with it too regarding their outstanding accounts :O ). Apparently the pads are better than Bendix and QFM. But will let you know soon.

Apparently the OEM engine mounts aren't supposed to be 2 piece.....
Sweet, sweet rubber!

Noice!
This stuff is the shizz for the grey trim, made mine look like new:

Dont get the children to paint it...

But they do it cheap......
I have a rear bumper that already comes completely painted. Hopefully I can strip the once grey bits to be grey again.

Just got it back on the road and been for about a 30 minute spin.
Everything is bolted back on nice and tight (thankfully - paranoid about that always for some reason). Went great. Difference from before and after is night and day.
To break down the difference -
New suspension supports, endlinks, strut braces etc.
Big difference. Gone is the rattles from the slightest bumps in the road. Gone is the big thumps when hitting a large holes and doing a tight turn. Gone is the bump steer under acceleration. Replaced with a quiet, competent ride that now handles the bumps and makes no damn noise! It's a miracle! It is a bloody beautiful noise to behold the lack of rattles.
Slotted brakes and new pads, braided lines
To early to tell but initial poke has yielded some differences. Brake pedal is much more firm and done away with the sponginess. Initial stopping power is down, but a few hard presses brings them up to better than OEM. I'll report more in a few weeks once everything is bedded in properly and settled down.
Poly upper engine mounts
Biggest negative I have. Starting the engine and low RPM has added a few more vibrations into the cabin. Nothing too nasty, but rather noticeable. It has changed the dynamics of the engine quite a bit and has limited delay between pedal and forward motion. Cruising it is fine and quiet (perhaps more quiet) than the broken mounts I had.
New Tyres
Hole. E. Shit. The best tyres I have ever purchased and they're still pretty green. My god do they grip. Trying to get some wheel spin and have some fun and they're like 'Nope. We're going to propel you in the direction we're pointed.' Should hopefully now have some grip in the wet too thankfully. Which we all need at the moment anyway. I'm not cut out for this weather :-/

Plan for the next year for it -
(Subject to change due to the other 17,000 projects I have on the go.....)
Next few weeks
ABS error fixed. Done. And sorted. Will be fixing the naked ABS pump wires and the brake pressure switch which is leaking more and more. And if those fixes don't fix it, have another hack on the module. I'll also get a WinXP laptop up and running with VOL-FCR and get me some codes hopefully.
Next month or two
Big service. Take it back to stage one so to speak (new leads, spark plugs etc.). Maybe new timing belt and water pump since I have no records when that was replaced last (should be done..... But I think I'm pushing my luck with it). Fitting of silicone hoses all around. Fix turbo oil drain leak. Fix compressor valve (new spring and cap) OR new turbo! Maybe.
Sometime over the next year
Fix bodywork and paint. New tailgate and bumper. Fix all the little annoying problems. New sound system! CV Boots. Poly control arm bushes fitted. Rear bump stops fixed. Look at getting more power from the engine etc.......
You can't rush perfection :P
I'll get some more pics up over the next day or two too with the new tyres, brakes etc.

What tyres?
K3FSAR
Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I used to have Bridgestone RE001s on my old Mondeo which I thought were brilliant, but these take it to the next level :O
Ex850R
Yes , I have 16" RE002s on the V70 now trying to run 225/45/17 Michy pilot sports , the front guards I am going to roll and run 10-15mm spacer , rears rolled and 15-25 spacer , the tyres are so much better than the REs , quieter and smoother and stick better!
The Re2s are heaps better than the 1s though.

good luck with this build, so far it looks like everything is going well

Thanks Pat,
Had a month or two not really touching any projects. But back into it this weekend! Installing new boost control solenoid as per Les and fixing compressor valve thingo. And probably turbo oil return leak. And hopefully get my carputer in in the coming weeks if my new bits ever show up from China 8-| :((
Ex850R
What new carputer bits?? Are you holding out on us?
K3FSAR
Shhhh. It's a surprise....
