I asked about additonal factors for my swap. If i wasn't swapping apples to apples i wouldn't be doing it. Only difference is the engine and tranny and awd system between the vehicles which is just using the donar car harness with the ecu from the donar car as well. Non of the advise i got was helpful besides that of the cem modual. Volvo is a car like everything else. I work on my 19 kia cerato gt which has alot more sensors and computers then a 2005 Volvo which is advanced in the era of the car's programming but it's nothing but something i wouldn't do to any other car. Yes i know i could have issues but same with every other engine swap on any car with computers or no computers. Will update this thread as i go and as i am not a asshole i would admit defeat if it dosen't work but i know it will as many have done so before. I will update as i go but don't get the car and parts until next week so will update then.
2019 Kia has less sensors and software than an 05 Volvo XC90... by a large margin, significantly less security as well in the code and general electronics design
All high speed can-bus modules in any 98+ volvo are VIN encoded and use the VIN as a security feature
All of the swaps that have been done to date have either replaced the entire high speed canbus with modules from a doner car or with an aftermarket EMS solution
With the sole exception of one swap where the owner paid out the A$$ for a new TCU and ECM so they could be loaded with a vin code that matched the CEM even though those specific ECU/TCM should have never been matched to the specific CEM.... The coding of the car required 2 weeks of arguing with volvo tech support over why the can-bus reload was failing until Volvo unlocked something at their end and forced the code down to the car (this was a V8 swap into a P3 XC70)
