Dauntless This is what the hose looks like: The thing that externally looks like a sensor, is it actually a sensor? On inspection it is hollow. Is it simply a heating coil inside? Is it necessary, or can I leave it off while making a new intake?

Dauntless Thanks. I have a solution in mind. At the moment I'll keep the 2.5" MAF. If I choose to upgrade to a 3" I'll only need to spend $20 on a 3" joiner.
