First thanks for excellent writeup . Did you know that you can buy a generic master motor door locker?.This is the one with five wires . 3 of these wires duplicates the two switches in the 240 drivers door . You can then wire the remaining blue and green motor wires to the wireless controller . Bear in mind you have to fit a linkage to the door button .This builds a bit of redundancy without having to touch the relays-all you need is positive, ground and 2 wires thru the door for the motor . If you really want to be simple buy the 2 wire motor and linkage -this will only allow keyless operation . in this case disconnect volvo door lock switches harness. please note if you have soldering skills you can rejuvinate the harness by cutting and melting heatshrink over degraded wires .just be ultra carefull removing key barell switch-you need to pull out door barel c-clip ,undo scews near lock mech on door . there are so many good and valid ways of doing this . restoring the original volvo unit is worth it - it uses highly flexible wire, it just degrades in this extreme heat. I hope this has been helpful to someone . Please note if you buy the 5 wire unit and wire the switches you dont have to fix the volvo original-you just need the work out the three switch wires , find someone that can use a multimeter for this .
