It's an idea but it's a.very rare car here probably only 1 of.30 odd in olive green left on.the road, i've had it 9 odd yrs so it would kill me to break it

Still needs to be complianced, a RWC won't be issued without a Compliance Plate. It'll need a personal import compliance plate, which isn't hard to do as long as it is obviously compliant with ADR's. As a "standard" UK model it shouldn't be too bad, the speedo already displays KM/H, and the steering wheel is on the correct side of the car.... so as long as the seatbelts are younger than the build date, and still have the factory tags on them, then it should be a mere formality.

Yep it's all standard on the inside apart from a couple of gauges and yes we have kph on the inside of the speedo, cheers for your input :)

I'm another daft Pom... One of the guys I know through Land Cruisers imported his UK LJ70 with a 1KZT in it as opposed to the 2L that it left the factory with... Let me know if there are any specifics you need to know.

Potentially one of the biggest costs is quarantine inspection, especially if it fails first time. Are you looking at containering it or RoRo to Australia? If RoRo you can't load as much in it, whilst a container you can fill it and the container.

Are you looking at bringing anything over with you in terms of personal possessions, beyond what you can fly with? If so, I'd look at a 20' container and go from there. If not, then RoRo is certainly an option.... however, if you RoRo it has to be empty, the car is not classed as secure, therefore leave as little as possible in it (such as stereo etc)

The big thinks as I mentioned are quarantine/BioSecurity, and then the compliance side of things. After you've got through those, then you can get it RWC'd and after that registered. There might be duty to pay on it as well, but double check that as I'm unsure.
