264 large headlight panels

im chasing 264/244 with single large rectangle headlights, i need the panels that the lights bolt to both sides ph 0438669935

264 and 244 large rectangular headlights are different i believe. Although the buckets may be the same.

The headlight support panels are all the same, they all have the holes to suit both narrow and wide headlight types. I've got a good, rust free beige pair of panels, $40 plus postage.

Hi Angus I know they are similar but in need for rectangle/twin California headlights, the hole is a lot wider

They're all the same, I've got a '75 242 that originally had the 7" round lights, then I fitted rectangular lights from a 264, and then California lights, without making any changes to the panels.

The panels have a wide opening which allows all light types to fit, and has two sets of inner holes, to allow for the different width lights.

I still have a good pair of panels available if you do need some.

Are u able to measure the width of the hole and send us a photo to my email address adrian.jarnjevic@bigpond.com. It's just ill got a twin turbo setup and I use the inner light as cold air duct to the turbo

not meaning to majorly hijack the thread but i'm also chasing the same thing, I have a set from a '77 with round lights but the opening doesn't fit my large rectangles and I feel like they might get a bit weak and floppy if I go cutting them up

I figured I'd reply here since it's easier to show the pics I've taken.

Here are the panels I've got, they're from a '78 244 so they originally had the round lights, wide grille etc.

The openings are 17cm high x 24cm wide, at the widest point. This size and shape accomodates the back of the large rectangular lights.

When the narrow lights (round, or square lights) are used, they bolt to the four captive nuts that are built into the panel.

When the wide lights (rectangular, or California) are used, they bolt to the two outer captive nuts in the panel, and to two clip-in captive nuts that are fitted to the square holes next to the inner corners of the opening.

hi i've checked the ones i have on my car and they are the same, the 264 rectangle opening is about 30cm wide
so it covers half of one head light, ive taken photos of me car but i put them up, how did u get photos up here

There are two kinds of big rectangle lights as far as I know, a small version and a big version
I'm pretty sure the smaller ones use the captive nuts and fit in the panels as angus described, the bigger ones use a stud coming out the back of the light itself that passes through the panel, these larger lights don't fit in the early panels, though it looks to me like the holes to hold the captive nuts line up with the studs so you could probably cut the inner hole a bit bigger to get the larger lights in

Yes there are two different panels I need 76-78 264 with the large rectangle headlights, my car at the moment has the 244 panels but the inner headlight on the California lights the hole is half covered

There are two types of rectangular lights, one type was used on '75-'78 260's and had two reflectors inside with two H1 bulbs.

'79-'80 260's and 240GL's had a type with a single reflector and a single H4 bulb.

Both are the same dimensionally, and mount in the same way. I haven't come across studs for mounting any of these lights, though studs were used on the '81-'93 models with plastic headlight housings.

I can take some pics of the back of the California lights fitted to my '75 242 if you like, it has the original panels from when the car had round lights.
