240 front wheel hub

Studs have stripped out of their knurling on my front left hub, would love to replace with a serviceable hub with decent studs.

I can do the wheel bearing if need be.

Wheels with the wrong PCD or wheels that arent hubcentric could cause excess twisting and pulling stress on the studs. They will either snap or as you have seen, chew up the knurling.

Is it a plastic centering ring? And are your lug nuts the correct seat angle? Either way, I've got one from a 1991 240 I can send your way if Ramrod's falls through.

I have plastic and metal centering rings to play with, but the plastic fits tighter.

the seat angle of the lugs should be correct as the lugs were sent with the custom wheels I bought. You’d think the custom drilled stud pattern would use the same angle

Yeah, hard to say really - perhaps just see if it happens again on the replacement hub and if it does then get concerned.
