Hey brains trust - I ordered what I thought was the correct AC drier bottle for the 93 240 R134A system from RockAuto (Four Seasons brand - very inexpensive) only to find out the ports are swapped from LHD to RHD so it's not interchangeable. Long story short it seems like this part number isn't really showing up on the usual Volvo parts websites and no luck with generic parts. Any leads? Otherwise I may just re-use it. Note this one is from a 1993 sedan - part number sticker says Volvo 3540588...interestingly the one in the 93 wagon has the sensor on the opposite side and part number is Volvo 9131973 (GCP states deleted part), but ports are the same so they would interchange.

Thanks @ramrod did the part number change along the way? The number you have quoted is that for a 93 RHD with R134a refrigerant? Looks like that P/N is in stock at GCP.

Also when I google that P/N all the images are showing the ports reversed vs. the one I need...can you send me a pic of the ports on the one you have?

On mine, looking from top down in the photo, the female port is at 12 o’clock and the male port is at 3 o’clock.

is that the right port orientation?

Yes that appears to have the correct ports orientation, however when I google that part number, I get all pics with the opposite port orientation...for example: Nuts! It appears this is a common drier bottle style with flats around the top at equal intervals, and the ports and switch are welded on to suit various manufacturers. I’ll have to keep looking I guess as I don’t want to order a $100 part and have the wrong one arrive...it was a bit different with the $12 part from RockAuto as I was ordering other bits from them...hmm.

OK thanks @Philia_Bear Using that info I was able to do some more digging, and found a Four Seasons one at RockAuto that looks like it might work...

And looks like this too from FCP: 6847510. So thanks guys plenty of sources when I do my next order.

I did the same thing...its possibly being turned into a catch can

    Happy to help

For rhd specific parts I find eBay.co.uk to be an excellent resource as you can easily ask the seller "is this for rhd?" Before spending money
