In about 1984 Volvo Australia did import 6 or 8 240 4 door turbo sedans as a trial to see if they'd sell turbo cars here.
Many years ago one them appeared for sale on one of the internet car sale sights or possibly the magazine Unique Cars , the photo showed it parked under a tree and from memory I think it was brown or burgundy in colour.
Most of the 6 or so cars ended up in Victoria going from the stories I was told in 1989 by Volvo Australia employees.
From memory the cars colors were green, brown, burgundy and were not badged as turbos.
Do any of the older members here know any details regarding this story.
2 years later Volvo Australia imported the first 740 body styled turbo cars badged as 760 Turbos but running 2.3ltr turbo motors.
The years stated here are not to be taken as completely accurate as it's been many years since I was involved and saw these cars.
