Were they, which years? You mean assembled in Australia and not Gothenburg? So you are saying Australian assembled 240s rusted more than Swedish ones...why is that?, poor assembly practice?
Who said rare type? What’s rare about a 240 wagon from a production number perspective?
Japanese low mileage cars without service record can be basket cases, heard about imports sight unseen where car never had oil change, never run hot, more wear. That’s a generalisation based on previous experience, but then I did get a great stagea turbo import too, via a dealer.
If someone has a reputable Jap contact, and gone direct/ not through an Aussie dealer, that would be useful to know.
