I have a T cam from a B230FT

Given its a +t, run a K or H and fit a GT30 or some such larger hotsided turbo and go run 12's

Happy to help if you are looking for a decent performance camshaft, rather than one of the volvo factory options.

the VX3 is close to the ipd turbo cam.

I have a VX3 cam, also fully rebuilt 531 head to suit ready to fit from a 1994 940

The V cam is pretty much the best suited factory cam for a mildly modded turbo redblock, it has decent exhaust lobe lift, and less overlap, when compared to the other factory cams. Both of these things are good with a turbo.
The next best thing would be an A cam, which was factory fitment on B230ET's. I've got one with distributor drive slot for $60 plus postage if interested.

Vx3 isn't the turbo cam. It's the na ipd cam. Just to correct misinformation.

Despite the VX3 being not that exciting, it is actually pushed/promoted as a 'performance cam' for turbo applications.
If you turbo your B230, its a bit more exciting than an M, but still not massively awe-inspiring.
They key thing to remember about the IPD turbo cam and the VX3 is that they're popular amongst our US-brethren for good reason - emissions laws are much tougher over there and these will/should pass californian smog/emissions testing while providing an improvement in performance over the M.
Locally, we're able to make use of decent cams.
The answer to 'what you should use' is bigger.
* Is the car an auto or manual?
* What sort of performance gains are you looking for?
* What turbo are you using?
* Will you be going with bigger valves?
* Does the budget extend to a 'real performance' cam rather than one of the 'better volvo options'?
The talk of 'stage 1', 'stage 2' and all those type of buzz phrases that are spouted around doesnt mean a great deal, without clearly defining what you want. That said, those sorts of phrases sell well without much in the way of tangible technical details.

Can confirm a VX is an average +T cam. I had one and it pulled great off boost but was very average on boost. Ran out of steam by about 4.5k and simply switching from a VX to a KG2T fixed the high rpm ping. Although I must say I got the best fuel economy with the VX + T with the best being 732km out of one tank when I went to Coota and back to Sydney.

Apolagies for the miss information, I was supposed to use the term, similar.
Someone posted the specs of all the Volvo cams and a few others including ipd options. And the RSI cams. People rave about. Prob because they are a rarity now. On turbo bricks forum.
I had a look at vx3 and the ipd turbo cam. They appeared to be very similar.
Those in the expert know. Can deny/ confirm. And more or less have above this post.
