  • Drive Flange Puller, Trans and Diff on Rear Wheel Drive . LOAN WANTED

Is there a kind soul who'd loan me a Drive Flange Puller for RWD. Same tool works for all RWD models.

I have a 122 and need to change the pinion seal. Dunno why it'd be leaking after 53 years ;-)

Obviously I'll pay for postage, Express Post and return the tool within 24 hours of being received.

Happy to send a deposit to bank account if required.

If there's someone in Hobart who has the tool that would really be ideal. Don't want to buy one, it's only likely to be used this one time.

This is the final task before the car is ready for inspection and rego....

if a pair of wheels from Skandix ever arrive! DHL Deutsche Post is the most hopeless postal system ever.

Thanks.

A copper faced hammer should do the job, if not I have a generic puller with slotted holes for bolts that would do it, though it cost less than the cost of two express post satchels on Ebay.

I may have the special service tool you're looking for among my Volvo tools, but I would need to see a picture to be able to identify it.

Thanks Angus,

Remove with gentle copper hammer, even blows around the perimeter?

That's the tool illustrated in the Green Book for the 120 Series.

If your first hand experience in their removal has been with a copper hammer, then I have a couple to hand.

How would you suggest removal of the pinion flange nut? Handbrake applied and rattle gun?

Thanks.

Job done.

No way would a copper hammer remove the flange, the diff housing is flush with flange.

Rattle gun and a heavy duty, old school Litchfield puller with a mate for moral support.

Glad you got it apart, most in my experience pull off by hand or just require a light bashing with the soft hammer, but I have never done one on an Amazon.

Volvo must have designed them with a tight fit.

Volvo must have designed them with a tight fit.

With a flange tightened at 200-220ftlbs on a spline, a soft hammer doesn't cut it.

    Thanks for trying to help.
