• For sale
  • The eternal sale of the LS1 RX7...

Times have changed, had to move out of where I was, no motivation to finish this anymore.

I have all the parts needed to finish this car, you just need to spend some time on it. There isn't all that much left to do.

Anyway,

1989 Mazda RX7 (Series 5 Turbo II) - Bodys OK, paints... very average but who cares, all glass is good, Efini front alloy panels, Efini front suspension (shitty coilovers included too!)

2004 VY Clubsport LS1 - Motor was out of a running car (old owner upgraded to an LS7) - Motors been pulled apart, all new seals, checked it's all good and stuff, F Body Camaro sump has been fitted

T56 - Hurst F body 6 speed shifter has been fitted

The motor/tranny/etc are all in, bolted up and good, intakes on the motor, fuel rails are on, coils are on, starter motors in, everything like steering etc (rebuilt power steering rack) is good. Swaybars are in, all suspensions in, car rolls.

What's needed to finish it:

Hook up the clutch master (clutch pedal has already been modified to suit a Commodore master)

Fab an intake (throttle body is on, so just chuck an air filter on the end of it if you want)

Figure out a throttle solution (extend a cable? etc)

Lots of misc stuff like putting the headlights back in, getting an adaptor to hook up the Mazda temp sender for the dash instument if you care, hooking up accessories etc.

There are a million this to list about this car...
Hinson Motorsports LS1 engine bracket
Grannies Speed Shop transmission mount kit
Grannies Speed Shop radiator mount kit
C4 Corvette tailshaft (modified to fit RX7 diff)
FAST fuel rails, speedflow fittingsm Turbosmart fuel reg
Pez Performance LS1 standalone loom (new, not a bodgy spliced old loom)
Camaro ECU
Ron Davis aluminium radiator
Mazdaspeed MS01 wheels
Random Tien coilovers
Bride reclinable drivers seat
All new suspension bushes
etc
etc
etc

It's currently in my name and able to be registered without needing an inspection. It's not engineered in any way shape or form...

Those photos are a bit old, it has a full cooling system, all belts and accessories fitted, wiring is done but needs much tidying, etc.

Any questions just ask.

$8k as is, take it away.
Only interested in motorbikes really, but not LAMS ones :(

I can de-restrict mine in about 5min, I have the parts here already just never felt the need to do it
Depends how much money on top I suppose.
$4k cash + bike is what I was thinking

I want to see it first before shaking on the deal though :-)
Mmm, not enough unfortunately as I am not all that keen on Hyosung
Wait a second, RG250. Hmm...
RGV 250 , must have....
I had two RG500s , one when it first came out then another after a STUPID move to a BMW snoozemobile....
I think LT loves his too much to part with it

I think that's a good deal. If you end up working it out I can come down and help out with it. I've owned numerous RX7's. I'd love this myself but I don't have time/tools to deal with building a daily.

7 days later
That looks like an excellent project!
To add to the 'ifs buts and maybes' list -
If I wasn't in the middle of one, I'd very seriously consider taking it on.

At the moment, even the roof paint wouldn't worry me - I could easily got it sorted - I just had the whole LH side, a RR door repair and a rear bumper done on the V70 for very little.

LSx + RX7 = very cool.
Oh. It's not even for sale anymore - It's currently in the air on a hoist having the clutch hydraulics routed and plumbed up.
Go on Ash , its you down to the ground , circle work with arm out the widow!!

Excellent. Progress pics?
Shall we close off this thread?

Not keeping it. Just getting it running before selling it.
Again. Id be very interested if it were able to be registered here. Seriously very interested.
no offense but this is not the car for you
none taken.....it's not the car for me as it sits right now...but running and rego'd I'd be all for it.
