zzdhalla My fuel pumps have all gone the way of the brown goo and no longer pump. Previously I have "rebuilt" them but I heard that a vn commodore external in line pump will do the same job. What options are sensible do-able cheap and reliable. /dlh.
Rob There are lots of pumps available that will "do the job" if I were after a cheap but good replacement I would use a VL external pump.
Rob There is a adjustable-ish regulator, it should have enough in it... but no gauge. You could fit a temporary gauge or fit a modern adjustable reg with a permanent gauge, that is what I have done.
volvodriverman My old 164 used to stop when the air temp got over about 28 deg. I finally moved the fuel pump into the boot as a desperate last attempt & it fixed it. Exhaust ran right past it, guess it got too hot?!
Rob I moved my pump and filter to allow for the dual exhausts. They now sit in front of the fuel tank, behind the diff, there is plenty of space there. You could put the filter in the engine bay I guess, but I don't see any real advantage to it.
Rob zzdhalla;20671 wroteAny suggestions re brand? you can get really fancy ones, but something like this will do fine http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fuel-Pressure-Regulator-complete-universal-kit-polished-/160941375282?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2578da7f32 You could always just fit a temporary gauge, the pressure may even be correct without any adjustment.
