Nope. D2 racing. (Will be a rebranded someone else) name.
Ex850R
Don't they have 6 &8 piston calipers?
iceton1975
I can my hands some 2004 Brembo calipers from V70R, sold the the 98 front brake set up to Rob

D2 have all 2-8 piston options. Just got to look at which car they are for. On 4pot is options for Volvo 850
Spac
My loose plan for the 242:
1. S60R rotors
2. Evo6 Brembo calipers.
3. ???
4. Profit.
That said, I might just fit them to the S40 (using redrilled Evo6 rotors).
deleted_user_160
would you not have to redrill for the 242 and the s40? or is the s40 4stud?
profit on modified cars...whats that?

The question is. Why? Will you be driving at over 150kmh often to need stronger brakes? Even the 940 jumbo brakes with thicker rotors are good brakes for a daily driven car. No real need to have 4piston unless you want the bragging rights. ..

I dont think that was anyone's question.

Ultimately. It's just because. Like anything I'm doing to this car. 17" steel wheels. Why? I like them :D
But at the end of the day the estate doesn't pull up anywhere near as quick as the falcon. And that's a horable feeling.
Always been a huge fan of better stopping power/more efficient stopping power, with well working suspension. Those are two things that can make a car quick. (Brakes make a car quick)? You can use the brakes later and have confidence knowing they will pull you up.
I'm putting more HP into the wagon so better braking is needed.
egads (she/her)
Also keeps engineers happy when adding power.

That's the second thing engineers like when putting big engines in (v8) is brakes can it pull up the extra weight.

S40 is 4x114.3
Evo4+ is 5x114.3
S60R is 5x108

How possible then would it be to convert an S40 to 5x114.3 using Evo4+ front hubs - advantage would be greater variation in wheel and brake possibilities.
What would/could you do about the rear?
Spac
Based on what's required to convert an Evo3, I think it's uprights and hubs and maybe lower control arms.
Rear, I'm blindly assuming that later FWD Lancer hubs could be adapted, or something.
I didn't look into it too far, TBH.

Jay - the right pads and fresh braking fluid will make it feel pretty close to a AU Series 2 Falcon. The Jumbo Brakes give more than enough confidence and brake equally as well as a VT front brake setup as well, just need to get rid of two front brake lines and block the plug on the Master cylinder and the Brake Portioning valve. I've done it and Angus has as well. It will satisfy the need to feel better than a Falcon that's for sure,.

The thing is the falcon is poo. It's not a priority. But would like to sus out all the ins and outs before I start.
Vee_Que
I mean. You can make the 740 brake better than the Falcon with what I said. ;)
Jon was talking about xc90v8 brakes working. Need 18s for it. Not 4 spot calipers but much larger surface areas.
calvintibia001
But seems XC90 brakes are decently cheap, only problem with XC90 brakes are there is not much performance disc out there
deleted_user_160
Well given that I'm soon to be running steel 17's the xc90 is out. I would like a large disc given they will be covered more so than with alloys heat will increase (yes I know a poofteenth) but it will increase. Counteract it, higher quality fluid, and larger surface area pads/calipers with slotted and/or cross drilled rotors.
