Looks good. What did you do to the exhaust manifold to make it look so nice - is it freshly sandblasted, new or some sort of paint or coating?

If you wanted it done properly sandblast it and paint it with hight temp paint.

In this i baked it in the oven to get rid of any residue and and gave it a good sand and then some paint. we'll see how long it lasts.

Actually, I’ve done exactly what you said you did and after a while the paint fatigued and looked like an amateur had painted it.

the actual properly way is to have the item coated, by a company such as jet hot coatings. This is not cheap though, to do say a cam cover and a pair of brake calipers cost $400

Lucky I'll only have the exhaust on for half a year then? and then I'll have the funds to replace and upgrade the exhaust system.

No, but it's my dads car and he just wants the "look" and he doesn't drive very fast so it should be fine.

Just trying to get it running right now, and I'll come back over and put the custom intake and different intercooler, adjustable cam gear and so on.

Car is now more 940 than 740.

940 engine, gearbox, diff, interior, wiring harness most things not part of the body are now 940.

Intake fuel pump and the speedo pickup from the diff was the most time consuming so now the car only has an in tank pump and you could hook up ABS if you wanted.

Focusing all my money on getting it drivable and registered then I'll come back over and clean up the loose ends.

I'm not 100% sure, but after measuring, I think i need 0 offset for 17x8 rims can someone confirm? the above photo has 17x8 rims with et20 and 20mm adapters which bring the offset to 0 which is the same as what i need. i think i would need something like +5 or +10. So many different sources with different specs for the same width

+0 will be okay in the back with a bit of inner lip massaging. You wouldnt want to go +0 in the front though. What size tires are you planning on?

Also, that red youve painted the car in is bloody gorgeous.

Yea for the front i was thinking something like +5, i just want to maximise the amount of dish.

For the tyres i was thinking 225/45/17

You could get away with a +10 and a 225. Just throw some camber at it.

With a +15 and 235 on mine, i'm baaaaaarely slicing the outer wall when the shocks are set to soft.

Where did you get the 90+ exhaust manifold from. I have been chasing one for my recently completed 240 project.

I am currently running an earlier model manifold and it with the extensive engine mods it could use a better breathing exhaust.

I had stock piles of Volvo parts, but most of the good stuff is gone. The 90+ Exhaust came on the engine, think of it like this, The only part of the car that isn't 940 is the metal, some glass and bumpers and lights. The rest is 940.
