Spac ICEDVOVO;c-157655 wroteYes you are right Spac. With 6 volvos in my garage and having bought my first one 40 years ago I obviously just don't get the enthusiasm . Sarcasm aside, you gotta admit that there’s better options than scrapping it for free.
Vee_Que I was paid 250 for my S40 in Melbourne after no one bit on the advertisment for months. Picked up. So they do pay, just you need to ring around.
ICEDVOVO I cant wait months to sell something parked in my driveway. Wife's time frame is 2 weeks. Think minimalism If she had her way house would be like Eddie's friend Bettina's apartment in Absolutely Fabulous:
Spac What you can do is put up an ad that says "Must be collected by dd/mm/yyyy" and then you scrap it after that date.
ICEDVOVO Well its not a problem now anyway. There is no parts car The loser at Avoca who was supposed to ring me when he was available so I could pick up the car appears to have sold it to someone else after telling me he "was a man of his word" And another loser with a car at penrith (member of I roll volvo) texted "yes" I could see the car on Anzac day. When I asked him for the address all I got was another "yes". I'm buying panels from a wrecked car now. From someone with paddocks who has the space and time to part out cars. Now if I can fight of the mongrel dogs and brown snakes I might get the parts I need.
Angus242164 Just to add some fuel to the fire, I put a '99 Vectra with broken timing belt and poor paint up on Gumtree the other day, got a reasonable offer two days after it went up. I'm in Ballarat, the guy (who works for a wrecking yard) drove an hour and twenty minutes from Melbourne with a tow truck, picked it up with no fuss, and paid $150 cash. I had to turn down similar offers from two other people in the time between his offer, and when I removed the ad, which was about three days.
