  • [sold] Free 93 240 sedan body shell rolling. EOI pick up Daylesford

EOI at this stage. I will have a gold 93 240 sedan body shell on wheels free for the taking. If nobody here is interested I'll get my neighbour to take it for scrap. Any specific bits let me know and people are welcome to pick it over. I'll probably save the doors, boot, bonnet and front end panels. Has the late rear glass with all black rubber surround. PM if interested. I'll post here again when I'm done with it then again before scrapping.
I can get a hold of a M47, pedal, engine, LH2.2 computer, tailshaft and diff to suit. (No I don't want the car).
I don’t think it will be a fixer-upper when I dispose of it...will just be rolling on 79 rear axle and front struts, no brake or fuel lines, no fuel tank, no interior...basically a shell with wheels and unless somebody wants it the rear glass, rear quarter windows, broken windscreen and interior headlining...I’ll throw in the tan rear seat as a bonus! :)

I'm new to all this but the black plastic that goes under the rear of the car that hides the muffler, that has the tow bar poke through. Is that is a good condition with all mounting brackets?

Also how would I go about getting this to Sydney, or should I just drive down?

I can post a photo of my car and parts I need if it didn't describe it well enough.

Sorry Tomek. I’m saving that lower valence panel for my 91 wagon at this point, so it’s not available.
Hey carnut, are the mounting brackets/grilles for the front speakers available?

No sorry I am using those in my project car.

Sorry no...I’m saving the doors and black door handles. Basically will be a rolling shell with a rear glass and rear quarter windows, but feel free to keep asking as I may have some bits.

Bump! Getting close to wanting this body shell gone. What you see in the pics is about all that’s left. Bonnet and guards, and nose cone gone. Boot lid available but poor paint. Rear quarter windows, drip moulding trims and rear glass still there and good. Rear glass trim is latest style with all-rubber black surround so a good update if you have the earlier style with separate black trim piece (for example a GT or a GLE). Also have a number of sedan interior pieces available for reasonable price (rear shelf trim, seatbelt covers, inner quarter trims, centre high-mounted stop light & rear seat - all in tan). Door shells available but I will be pulling out the glass, seals, mechanisms and trims. Door shells reasonable except LH front dented.

Pulled more bits off the shell today, including rear glass, rear quarter window trims, headlining, etc. Going cheap or free if you pick up. About the only things I haven’t removed are the rear quarter windows (worth saving?) and the drip rail trims (hard to remove without damaging?)

Have you got the centre plastic insert for the centre console?

Do you have passenger side B pillar plastic cover?

Also looking for the attached outer skirting / pin stripe with clips.

Assuming rear head rests are gone?
Cris, wasn't it the right side lower sill trim you wanted? At least that's what I thought when we last spoke, and I think I told you I had a left side but not right
Hi @Andoria sorry I probably can’t help you. I do have one of the centre console cubby pockets but I think I need it for my car unless I can find another one in my parts stash. The lower sill trim pieces are the same LH and RH, and should be available on any car in the scrap yard. The clips break when removing so you will have to buy new clips (genuine or aftermarket ones are available on eBay or other Volvo parts sellers). I have the rear headrests, but as I think we discussed on Facebook or elsewhere here it is a sedan so they will not fit your wagon. I need wagon rear headrests as well! :) Fitted the B-pillar plastic cover to @ds245 ‘s wagon so sorry that is gone as well.
Since you're sending the whole lot off to scrap, would you mind doing a wee bit of cutting?

I'm after the beaver panel (yellow box).

Also, what condition are the rear edges of the wheel arches in, on both sides? (red box) These are common 140 / 240 rust points as you know, where the inner guard and the rear wheel arch meet the boot floor.

If they're okay, I'd be interested in them.

@bgpzfm142 the body has zero rust (it was from Wangaratta - dry there - and being latest body they didn’t rust as much due to better sealing and better material coatings than the early cars. You are welcome to the panels for free...however would you be able to come up and cut out the bits you want? Otherwise I think it would be quite labor-intensive for me to do it so I would have to charge you for my time. Let me know. I’m about to go away on holidays for a few weeks but I won’t be scrapping the car before then so no urgency.

Regards,
Greg
Maybe I should pull the windscreen and cut the surround out for my rusty L since it's being cut up - unless you have the same idea for your L? I know the plenum doesn't match up, but its not rusty that far down :-)

You’re welcome to do that Dean. I still have the “paddock basher” 87 240GL so that also has potential rust-repair panels.
I see you got the rear valance off Greg...much difficulty?

Not too bad. 4x 10 mm bolts holding the rear edge to the brackets, then some funky spring clips that have to be removed from inside the tyre wells...then used a paint scraper to lever off the front top bits where the double-sided tape is. It’s got your name on it if I don’t use it on my gold wagon...depends on what I end up with exhaust-wise once I do the turbo swap. If I put a rear muffler on then I’ll need the valence as I cut a hole for the straight-out exhaust on mine. Or maybe I’ll look at a rear muffler with dual exits...anyway it’s sitting in the shed for now.
