[Sold] 1990 740 GL 20th Anniversary Edition - white - will go to metal recycling tomorrow for $150

A family vehicle now surplus to needs, owned by 3 generations over 25 years. A nice original car in good condition but needs repairs to brakes and aircon. Would suit restoration so will be sad to sell to the wreckers.

Had done 300k when odo stopped a year ago, mostly country miles. Currently at Berry south of Sydney. 6 mth rego is about to lapse but could be renewed a further 6 before next inspection.
This car will go to recycling tomorrow for $150 as too many other issues to deal with just now, so any enthusiasts please note

I saved it, couldn't see all those good parts go in the bin. The Draco's and various bits made it worthwhile even considering its location. If she's reasonable I'll put her back on the road. Anyone know if these unusual soft nose 740's are easily converted back to the pre 90 / early 740 front end and which parts would be swapped across?

Or possibly the other iteration of late 740's with the 940 front? (Bonnet and fenders appear to be the 940 style so I'm assuming other sheet metal behind the lights is to suit the 940 setup).

Either way, this soft nose version is my least liked front end.... Volvo gets it so right most of the time and so very wrong now and then.

I'm pretty sure you can convert them, but you'd need loads of parts. Lights, bonnet, bumpers, rad support, front quarters, and maybe some different plugs on the loom (not sure)

The latter is easier. See both the 740 1991 and 940 to 1993 parts catalogs, Group 82 (and others) and do the compare.
