I had a driver side engine mount fail before and as a result the engine moved upon taking off from stand still. This in turn caused my Automatic trans cooling lines that run to the radiator to get rubbed against and overtime wore through and i lost all my trans oil. Worth replacing both whilst you're at it. I got my mounts from Angus on here

If you're paranoid you can always put a ratchet strap between the hoist points and the left-side strut brace. Ghetto style :)

Mount swapped but it was a PIA job for sure. How I long for a HOIST!

If you turbo convert a 2 series keep an eye on the drivers/rhs engine mount.
As they sag and the turbo starts to rub against the steering column then sheers off the round plate.
I experienced this 3 yrs ago

I've got a cut off bottom of a dishwashing liquid bottle over the mount that gets oiled when you do a change - seems to work so far and hasn't melted.
