I'm trying to find a replacement fuel pump for my 1972 164E. I have noticed a few Kjet pumps are available at a reasonable price on ebay. Can they be used on my Djet system? Or do I need to hunt down a djet pump?

You need a D-Jet pump.
D-Jet, K-jet, and LH 2.* pumps are quite different. Some examples -
Bosch p/n...............application..........litres/hr.......c/30sec.......pump pressure (bar)
0 580 464 007.......Volvo D-Jetronic....min. 90.......min. 750..........2.0
0 580 254 996.......Volvo K-Jetronic.....Min 90........Min 750..........5.0
0 580 313 049.......Volvo 940 (LH2.4).....115..................................4.0
D-Jet needs 2 Bar of pump pressure.
The LH 2.4 pumps are too much, and the K-Jet pumps are way too much.

PS - Can you please point me towards these reasonably priced K-Jet pumps that you saw on ebay? I need one for my K-Jet 145, whose fuel pump hath skaken off its mortal coil.

pretty sure voldat has a 144 pump. I dropped off a stash of 144 injection parts a few months back. It came out of a low km car and It was driven into workshop.

I'll get in touch with Voldat. Fingers crossed - the correct pump seems to be a rare beast indeed.

If the K-Jet pump physically fits then you can use it. It has the same flow rate as the D-Jet pump but can handle higher pressure (load). The pressure regulator is what determines the fuel pressure, using a pump with the same flow rate that can handle higher pressure will mean it will have an easier and longer life than the standard pump.
