I haven't driven it in a few months but have started it often in between. I moved it Friday, it started fine, but I didn't run it for long.
Now if I turn it over and give it a lot of accelerator it will start but makes a lot of engine knocking noises and smoke out the exhaust. It seems like it is only on a few cylinders and won't move under it's own power. I've tried it again a few times and it won't start up even with accelerator.
It has a carburetored B21A engine.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)

Washed down cylinders? Oil smell like petrol? Oil down the spark plug holes should get you some compression.

I had never heard of that before but looks like it could be it. The oil does smell like pertol and seems thinner than normal.
So oil down the spark plug holes will get it started? Is that a short term fix? What would the long term fix be? ....obviously I should change the oil.
Thanks egads!

Yeah, that will get some compression back, enough to get and keep going. Cleaned dry the spark plugs while you are at it.

Awesome! I'll do it and report back :)

You were spot on, an oil and filter change, better plugs and a bit of oil down the spark plug holes had it purring again!
You're a great man egads. :D

It helps that I was doing it on one of the 144's a couple of days ago. Mine didn't start though, damn think still not sparking.
Handy trick though.
