carnut222 I wonder if they’re the same as the 240 ones...to test it you could just put some duct tape over them and see if it makes a difference...
ab1 haha i will. i did plug them in the past but we had heavy rain and my amp was sitting in water while i was away :/
harpdevice Thanks for all the conversation and suggestions. It's been raining a lot here too. I'll have a small garage in a few weeks with a lift! After years of waiting! I will definitely check for tire separation and seal up the trunk lid and wheel well holes. I'll report my results after I get the opportunity to work in it.
harpdevice Hello, just an update and a few question... I haven’t worked on the holes and seals yet. I’m sure this will make difference with fumes inside. It’s been raining a lot. I’ve been doing some minor adjustments and driving it around a bit. Question 1: Does any one know of an affordable CO meter or exhaust analyzer that will read high enough when making adjustments to the ECU knob? Question 2: Is there a way to get the exhaust to run cleaner - (install catalytic converter or other)? Thanks, Kevin
carnut222 I just replaced the exhaust system on my ES and it’s a lot better. Had to go back and re-seal a few of the joints. That would be one thing to check as already mentioned if you haven’t done so. It’s still not great when sitting in the garage after starting it to move it out of course, but not much hint of fumes when on the road now. With respect to making the exhaust run cleaner, if you were to try and add a catalytic converter, you would have to upgrade the fuel injection system to have an O2 sensor and feedback as the catalytic converter is sensitive to running too rich or lean and can become plugged or ineffective. Could probably go to an aftermarket fuel injection system, but not cheap. I’ve thought about trying to convert my ES to LH injection from a modern Volvo as you can get a donor car cheap. You’d obviously need something with a 6-cylinder engine (960 or S90 with the in-line 6?) A lot of work but possible if you’re mechanically-inclined.
harpdevice What about the EGR valve? Mine is missing. Will this help with the exhaust? I have a new one to connect but I’m missing the pipe that connects it to the exhaust pipe.
