Mines a 1988 240 wagon, m46, b230ft conversion.

DId you get photos of it? The Vin number and other exterior details would have given the best info. Maybe another experiment car?

The shop I went to had no issues getting the 3 inch to fit over the diff. Are you doing it yourself or having a shop do it? Not discounting your abilities, but sometimes its best to let the experts do it for the best result.

Had a welder do it and he didn't have a hoist so he did the best he could and the car is low. After engineering I think it will be going under the diff :)

Too low makes you lose power down ability really. But yld is pretty low and fits fine. Maybe an oval or twin 2" could work better for you though?

Im not in it for heaps of power I have a galant vr4 for that, my wagon is just a stock daily.

Twin 2" is good idea , lots more volume .

You can always run 3" past the first muffler then 2.5" over the axle. The gas cools quite a bit as it travels down the exhaust pipe so it shouldn't really cause a noticeable restriction.

Mines stranded dump size although custom made and then goes to 3 inch where the g box cross member is. I have since had it remade and no more issues. :)

Can't fit a larger dump due to steering shaft. Not that I need it anyway :)
