FFS, built in China is meaningless. Like any manufacturing anywhere it depends on QA, attention to detail, production processes etc. China can do this, just if you don't pay for it they don't.

There is the mindset of the employee which can have significant impact on QC at all levels

Also it can be as much as not wanting to support production of cars in China

I think at some point something has to cease being what it is. I love my C30 and generally have a liking for euro cars. I like the designs, history and the innovation and if course Volvo ticks those boxes but is an s90 really a euro car? It's a Chinese owned company and it is built in China. Sure it might be designed and engineered in Europe but is that enough to keep it a real Volvo? The ranger was engineered and designed here and does any one think that the ranger is Australian? Just saying because no doubt Australia will get more and more Chinese built volvo models over time. I've already read how supply constraints might see the xc40 come from China in the near future.
