I see it as testing the market more than actually expecting to get it. Either that or the dealer is on something. I don't see interior pics either, and it would want to be perfect inside and out.

It would only appeal to someone who wants to put it away in speculative hopes, but even then I agree the ask is way ahead of real world value for a long time to come.

For 30k you're getting into P1800 values and in collector terms the 850 isn't close at this point in time.

I'd also love someone to save it rather than mod it, but that's just me.

Now that IS the real deal. In the 60s my dad was friends with the chauffeur for the head of MB Aus, who drove a white one of these with a red leather interior. Phwoar. He used to give dad a lift home sometimes and I got to play in it. In a sea of Vee Dubs, Morrie Minors, Holdens, Fords and Valiants this thing was like a space ship. It was hugely impressive, and when he started up that V8 and took off I damn near fainted. Such strong memories of it.

I also remember once playing with the sunroof, windows etc and having a heart attack when it all stopped dead. I went inside and confessed, but my dad's friend just laughed - it was all hydraulic and with the engine off it simply ran out of grunt.

I have always craved one but I know you need serious wealth to own these things. They are so complex and fragile. We used to use a Swiss mechanic back in the day and he had several down the back of his shop. He told me in no uncertain terms to avoid unless I wanted to be permanently destitute. Still want badly though...
