Be patient Dave, the silver 240 is a very nice car and getting rarer, keep driving it and take your time to build up the the other car as parts always seem to appear when you least expect.
Worst case scenario put silver car on historic plates.
Enjoy taking your time to build the rat car just as you want it with the parts you've always had in mind.
End result you get to enjoy 2 early 2 series cars both worth good money.
Took me 18yrs to decide to turbo the GT and I've had it for 29 1/2yrs now
I swear this car is going to send me to a mental health specialist, go for a drive to see wife's mother, hop back in car everything except odometer works even speedo.
Fuel, turbo boost, temp, speedo, rpm working.
99.9% sure odometer has broken tooth in dash cluster gear.
Just for interests sake, the grey plastic door handles and top of bumpers was very faded after sitting for so many years, last weekend, washed car and sprayed grey plastic parts with Supercheap Tyre shine liquid type, wiped it down today after letting it soak/sit for a week, door handles in particular came up brilliant.
