- National Meet 2017 Megathread
National Meet 2017 MegathreadOrganizer: James (@jamesinc) Sydney NSWEvent on (Created on )Hi Oz Volvo community,
You've been waiting longer than usual, but I'm pleased to say that the Oz Volvo National Meet 2017 is now official!
Each year the Meet has become bigger and better, and I'd love for this year to be the biggest one yet. We're well positioned for most of the NSW and Victorian crowds, and hopefully some of you folk from Tasmania and South Australia can be tempted into making the sojourn to Benalla.
Friday October 6 - a special edition of the [FNH] Friday Night Hangz
Saturday October 7 - the centrepiece of the weekend, the Oz Volvo show'n'shine and BBQ, followed by dinner on Saturday night (I'm still working on the location for that)
Sunday October 8 - we'll be doing our usual cruise around the region, and we may also stop by Winton for an informal display and a look at the driver training event being run by the BMW Victoria club there. If you'd like to participate in that event, it's open to any cars, but you'll need a few hundred dollars, a helmet, and a car that will pass scrutineering! Keep an eye on the BMW Vic club's website for more details.
$50. You can bring a second Volvo for half price. More details and registration form here: https://ozvolvo.org/meet2017
We'll list a preferred motel in the coming weeks.
Friday Night Hangz
Are you arriving in Benalla on Friday night? Come on down to Georgina's Restaurant for some dinner @ 7pm

Coffee and cars at Station Stop Cafe, Weston Park in Yarralumla, near where we had last year's end of year BBQ.
Kid friendly, with play area close by, train rides and maze. (Will need to check on availablity on the latter two).
Will use this to plan out possible November BBQ, and a December cruise. Thinking either Cooma (down via Monaro Hwy and back to CBR via Snowy Mtns Hwy and Hume) or Goulburn (up via Tarago and back via old back roads).
