Daily drive LH2.2 240 and ran really well until one cold and wet morning when it didn't start. It just sounded like it was never going to go, turning over but not smoothly and then backfired. Feels like the timing is out, turning over and then stopping suddenly. Came back after work and tried again and it fired right up and runs fine. Idle is smooth and revs right up the range.
Is water getting into something that would cause this?

Could be condensation in distributor cap causing arcing or something. Have a look at cap and rotor and plug wires...might be time for a refresh if they are not fairly new?? Check cap and rotor contact areas for excessive corrosion maybe? Or was it more like the starter was struggling?

I'll have a look at all those. Could probably do with a refresh on some of those parts. Starter will turn it over no problems until it tries to fire too early.
