For Sale is my 1988 Volvo 240 Wagon
Trying to sell this week or weekend. Make an offer!
$1,400 O.N.O/Negotiable
i have not owned it long, but due to the usual boring factors of life; time, space, money and sense.
i must say goodbye to it and focus on maintaining my Daily driver Mercedes and get the S60R to its best.
will keep it simple, can answer more questions from interested buyers via message. Would love it to go to a local enthusiast who will enjoy it and use it
Its a truly lovely car especially in its strange and rare dark green colour. drives really well and is an overall honest and solid well cared for example. I would love to keep as a cheap and relaxing Club Reg car but simply don't think i can justify it :(
1988 240GL Station Wagon B230F
229,000 on the Odometer which has stopped (only recently, full history up to then)
Automatic with Overdrive
Dark Green (very rare)
classic Beige Cloth interior with black dashboard
Leather Wrapped ‘small’ Steering Wheel in very good condition
Unregistered, Not Sold With Roadworthy
The Good:
Runs very well, smooth and strong
Gearbox shifts well
Air Conditioning Works amazing like no other 240 i have experienced
Interior, dash and seats all in very good condition for age
Leather Steering wheel
All interior features work
Headlights in perfect condition
Near new battery
Near New Brake Master Cylinder
New Rear Brakes
New Rear tail light
Near New Windscreen
almost complete service history from new with original sale date in book
Very clean engine bay (even under bonnet light works!)
Everything works
Distributor rotor replaced
Spark Plugs cleaned
Cooling system cleaned
Idle adjusted
Has been very well looked after since new and has spent last 2 year sitting in garage
No rust underbody or structural
The Not So Good;
Rust below windscreen (shown in photos) Repairable and not major or structural
Fair few small scratched, marks and minor dents on body and trims
Bonnet in need of Respray very faded
Roof In need of Respray but not as significant as bonnet
Centre console area around handbrake is broken
few bits of interior trim/plastics broken or missing
No stereo/head unit (Speakers there)
strut Tops cracked
Rust in Tailpipe
Shocks very worn and soft
ball joints worn
Seems to be in overall decent mechanical shape, not sure how much exactly it would need for Roadworthy but i wouldn't expect anything major.
Happy to Negotiate fairly and open to offers.
