Ah, a harness from an LH 2.4 740....
Like this one (in part) - thought I'd post this as a bit of an FYI.
This is most of the 745 wiring loom. You can see the EZ-116K glowing there, at the 8 o'clock position in the photo below.
Here's a better view of just the EZ-K section of the harness. Note the wiring to the EZ-K is on the
inside of the firewall grommet.
You know how a lot of folks write that it's better to get your LH 2.4 wiring from Dave Barton, or from a 240? There's a reason for this. Let's zoom up closer and see why.
On the RH side of the above photo is the wiring to the engine bay side of the main wiring loom. That little dingleberry with the connector on it? Well, that's for the connection to the RPM sensor that sits at the rear of the block, and it connects back to the EZ116K.
See how on the LH side of the main wiring loom that there's a main 'trunk' of wires, and two smaller branches? One branch goes off to the EZ-K, as you can see. Not only inside that branch is the RPM sensor connection, as well as the wires to the diagnostic connector that sits in the engine bay, but also other wires back from the EZ-K, into the trunk, which run off to the main fusebox and another plug which ends up at the LH 2.4 ECU module, which is yet another harness.
A standard LH 2.4 system needs an EZ116K to work. And as you can see, it requires massive forking around to extract what is needed for the latter, at least from a 700 harness. For starters, you'll have to separate the parts of the harness which go into the engine bay. Then you'll have to go back towards the main bundle of wires that leads from the EZ-K to the relay / fuse box. Not impossible, but not exactly time efficient.
You may have better luck with a 240 harness, although I've not had the experience of extracting one.
Me? I'm going with Dave Barton harnesses to covert the 242GT to LH 2.4 and ditto with the 144 conversion, because even though I have this, its soooo much less hassle. I'm hanging onto this harness since I have a 945.
There's a place in the UK which sells the 25 and 35 pin connectors which fit on LH and EZ-K systems. If you're keen to roll your own harness, it may be an easier starting point.
