It does look good.......but (and don't get me wrong i would really like a 2.4T or T5 V70 manual...)...
...I got in touch with the seller nearly a month ago when the ad came out. Pointed out he'd need to sort a blue slip for a NSW sale, also photos of the driver's seat which he described as "super comfy but worn through in a patch" (his phone camera stopped working). Apparently the timing belt is due too. I gave him some feedback on expected cost incl the water pump etc; no response. I didn't get to proof of title the blue slip was enough of a sticking point. (ignored that one too!) Oh, and he will let you see the car - at Byron Bay (if hes still there - note he wanted it sold by 18 Sep). I was able to visit but i didn.t because he wasn't forthcoming on the other issues.
Anyway I'm sure it WAS a fine vehicle. The 850 wagon i sold to someone from the north coast in 2013 ended up unregistered in Melbourne, 50,000 km and 3 years later, undrivable with a broken alternator and flat battery. Not sure what services it had (or hadnt), different NSW plates to when sold. Go figure! No stereotypes of course but Caveat emptor. Backpackers and international surfers want something that will last their trip but are not always interested in long term reliability.
