Im after a new 240 blower motor and possibly the resistor as well as im retrofitting a/c into a 1 series thought might as well replace the fan while its all apart.
I know they're available from US but if I can avoid shipping costs it would be ideal if someone has one lying around :)

With the help of @bgpzfm142 I’ve done this on my 74. It’s a shit of a job but it’s worth it. Unfortunately I can’t help you with tracking a fan and resistor down but they’re readily available brand new from Europe and the US. You will need a 4 speed lighting strip for the HVAC control panel for the dash as well, but you can get one easily locally.
I’d recommend whilst it’s all apart to replace the heater core hoses and have the core tested and cleaned professionally. You might also need to do the heater tap as well.

I get the motors from Rock Auto
ramrod
I have a resistor brand new genuine Volvo

yes I will look at testing the heater core as well. I think the tap may have been replaced although it could just be a newer style.
quite demoralising as per usual the VDO motor is only about 50 dollars from either FCP or carid both asking about 100 aud give or take to ship it :/ the main reason for sourcing locally. I imagine it'll be the same on rock auto.
I hate to think what you'd be asking for that ramrod I just had a look on the prices

I’ll be doing orders with GCP.se and VP Auto Parts in coming weeks if sharing an order helps but I’m not expecting to do anything with VP till end of month or so

if I cant source something locally that could a good alternative

I can help with the switch and panel, and a spare motor and resistor if you decide not to go for new parts.

I'm dong a heater fan motor replacement in Larry, my 73 144, at present. (pics soon)
Instead of going with resistors, I got replacement brushes for the OE Electrolux motor. The brushes do wear, but the motor itself usually lasts forever. (I say 'usually' as we had some dramas when we did Paul's motor).
A common failure mode for the Electrolux multi-winding motors is for one of the brushes to overheat, which prematurely open circuits the brush when the brush holder melts.

As Bob mentioned we had issues with the fan and the replacement 3-speed I had in the shed as well, which is why I ended up using the 4 speed. To make it worse, the 240 housing I had with AC condenser (as I had hoped to add AC to the Jaffa) cracked when I had to pull the unit out and put it back in again, so in order to fit the slightly bulkier 4 speed fan to the original 140 housing, I had to get he Dremel out and make some small modifications to get it in. But at the end of the day it all went together and works a treat defrosting my windscreen and warming my face and toes on the -8º mornings we've had here in Canberra.

yes the one I plan to use is cracked as well absolutely nauseating making a tedious job more difficult. I'm going to try and repair it with epoxy since I cant find a late model box easily.
@paul0075 are you still planning to do an order this month?

I’m hoping to do the GCP order by Sunday. I’m not sure if their parts pricing will be as good as some of the other places when it comes to what you need, but it’s all genuine not aftermarket.

I can supply a complete unit from an '80's car if that helps.

youre probably right re the price. out of the aftermarket alternatives is four seasons, Siemens, VDO or Everco the better quality product if anyone knows.
appreciate the offer however I have an 80s box im pulling the bits I can off it but the casing is too narrow to fit the larger r134a evaporator
