They do, they absolutely do wear out. You can't say things like that, people will take you at face value. All rings wear out, period. All bearings wear out, period.
The motors are good at running with trashed internals, but that doesn't mean they don't wear out/don't require servicing. I recently went looking for an in-spec B230 crank and it took three motors (cherry picking the best motors I could find, too) to find it and even then it was only barely in spec. I commonly see major wear in the mid and low bore perpendicular to the crank centreline, but honing marks in the upper bore rarely wear all the way through even when the motor is measuring very poor compression. Squirter blocks definitely perform better (I've got one with 250k on it that's giving me I think 185psi warm compression on all four pots, that's pretty nice for that age), and FT blocks definitely perform worse.
