So part of the reason that I was stuffing around to try and get the DICE working was intermitent issues with the key. I kept getting "Key Error Try Again" It looks like the SCM is on the way out and Google says that it is reasonably common. Google also tells me to hit it with a hammer.
Just wondering on local price for new vs FPC vs second hand unit
Is there anywhere else I should be looking online? A generic search indicates around $200-220 USD

I don't remember if you need to code in the new module with an activated copy of vida or not

Thanks, Google says no if you are just replacing the switch up will confirm with the fault trace.

You don't need to program a start control unit but you do need to program the steering column lock. So confirm the fault code to decide which to replcae.
The ignition switch/start control unit is kinda like an aerial for the immobilizer which is actually programmed into the steering column lock.
It's a bit of a hassle to replace the start control unit as it's held in with 2 x T25 torx bits that face the firewall.
If your reading about hitting something with a hammer it's the steering column lock module thus the confusion

Hook up the Dice this morning after a couple of funnies last night. 100% the SCM based on the fault trace.
Question now is do I get new, or secondhand?
Best price new is around $300 aud posted
