Massey165 Build your own fancy oil cooler for that Volvo race car. Insulated box of ice in the cabin, electric water dump, some plumbing and you have cool oil. COOL AH! Make an offer . Removed from Penta AQ171. holes for temp senders in and out. standard. Pick up Castle Hill
lasercowboy Dry ice on its own is a terrible coolant because the thermal transfer is next to nothing. And there's a good chance you'd suffocate yourself if you put it in the cabin! Dry ice + acetone is a better coolant, but equally not that nice to have in the cabin... if you're going to go down this route, then surely liquid nitrogen is better in every way? Still, no liquid/solid gases in the cabin please, you will suffocate and die!!!
Massey165 Thanks will modify thread. In the marine application, I would expect the oil would not be as hot as in a race car, a colder cooling medium could bring the oil back to a somewhere near the marine job and also well within the oil specs.
