Original ebay buyer bailed on this. Probably because when he went to pick it up he would have discovered it has a massive rust hole in the roof back corner which precludes any hope of getting a blue slip without considerable expense.
Nice omission by the seller. " you can just bog that up mate" Yep real easy.....
I've taken a reasonably good look at it. Nice looking wagon from a distance. It's a shame it's been so neglected. Clearcoat bad in usual places.Body is straight but there is a large rust hole in the back corner of the roof which is uneconomic to repair for registration purposes when you weigh up overall condition, particularly given it's been sitting for 4 years under trees in a coastal area. Interior leather is crazed and cracked, dusty etc. Sought after SC916 stereo which seller reckons he paid $500 for! Engine runs but disptick very gritty , I suspect its just been left half out. No codes showing. Done about 220000K. Wheels are OK, tyres bald. Has a tow bar and the guy has a trailer boat. I reckon it's been dunked on the boat ramp a few times. A bit more surface rust on the rear brakes than you would normally expect to see.
All I really need off it is the tailshaft, angle gear and diff.
Anyone willing to go halves or whatever with this but you get to keep it after I pull out the tailshaft, diff and angle gear?
Would have to pull the parts at your place as it would be uneconomic and time consuming for me to transport it from one place to another.
Or keep it simple and you buy it and strip it and sell me the parts I need for $700.
I've asked the seller if he would part it but he's not interested; he just wants it gone but at the same time doesnt want to give it away. He has spent money on gearbox and radio and he cant accept its a sunken loss.
Message me and we will see if we can work something out with this guy.
BTW: The owner has removed and sold the roof racks
