It's majestic.
It is. I'm still looking for the feel that defines her.
carnut222;137118 wroteSweet! Definitely pre-1986 as it has the old style hood, plenum etc. Maybe 1985? Does it have a B230E engine?
The build date is 85, the second date on the compliance plate is 86. I didn't know the bonnet and plenum changed after 85.
I'm not sure on the motor, when I checked the vin on the RTA site the engine number came back starting with B230e so I think that's the 230E engine? Or is there another way to tell?
The previous owner helpfully stuck a hand written label inside filler flap saying "use 98 unleaded", would that be correct for the B230E?
Also, the second car I got, the surprise addition, is a 1979 264. Any love for the v6 here?
The green 264 starts but will not run. It idles, then the idle speed drop/rises drops/rises then it stops. There are split vacuum pipes and disconnected vacuum pipes so that is where I'm starting. As well as at the fuel filter in the engine bay. Talk about old school, there are pipes everywhere.
Thank you to bgpzfm142 for the link in another thread to 264 engine manual.
